NoCOUG Conference #99 on August 18: The British are coming! The British are coming!
Through many years of painstaking investigations into Oracle Database technology, this resident of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland now stands at the very pinnacle of his field as evidenced by ground-breaking textbooks such as Cost-Based Oracle Fundamentals and numerous presentations at Oracle Database conferences throughout the world. His books and writings are indeed of the very highest caliber and ample evidence of his extraordinary knowledge and capabilities. Who is he?
Puzzled? Here’s another clue: In his enthusiastic introduction to Cost-Based Oracle Fundamentals, Oracle guru Tom Kyte said: “One of the reasons [Chapter 7] is my favorite chapter is because I still remember hearing this chapter for the first time (not reading it, hearing it). It was about three years ago, at the NoCOUG (Northern California Oracle User Group) Meeting. I attended [his] Histograms session and, for the first time, felt that I truly understood how histograms worked in Oracle.”
I won’t keep you in the dark anymore; I’m referring to none other than NoCOUG favorite Jonathan Lewis who is returning to NoCOUG to deliver a keynote address and technical session at Conference #99 on Thursday, August 18 at the Chevron campus in San Ramon.
P.S. There are still seats available in Jonathan’s Optimizing Oracle seminar on August 16 and 17 at the CarrAmerica Conference Center in Pleasanton. NoCOUG members receive a hefty discount. Click here to register.
